MoU between JOAS, MAG and NAPEI

On 26 September 2024, a three-way Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Japanese agency association JAOS, Malaysia Aviation Group and the National Association of Private Educational Institutions (NAPEI). The MoU which will see the organisations working together to encourage more Japanese citizens to study in Malaysia.

The event took place at the Malaysia Aviation Group pavilion at the recent Tourism EXPO in Tokyo. The parties were represented by Ms. Emily Tan, Head of Airlines Global of Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), Mr. Yohei Otsuka, Director of Japan Association of Overseas Studies (JOAS), and Datuk Lau Wai Cheng, Deputy President of NAPEI.

Ms Lau Wai Cheng, as Deputy President of the National Association of Private Educational Institutions (NAPEI) which was established in 1987 and with more than 60 member institutions across all sectors in Malaysia, said that all parties will collaborate to promote the new Edu+ programme. The programme is an initiative devised in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Art and Culture Malaysia to offer students opportunities to travel and learn in the country, and MH Explorer, a travel scheme for students aged 13 to 26 years old, offering benefits including flight discounts and extra baggage. 

Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), the wider group of Malaysia Airlines, will support JAOS and NAPEI’s promotional programmes, bringing together Malaysia industry and trade partners, and will aid familiarisation trips for trade, media and agents to Malaysia.
